Portables Laborer Department: Portables Division Location: Oregon, IL The Company Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS) is the Midwests leading independent recycling and waste solutions company. LRS has experienced phenomenal growth, with fourteen acquisitions throughout northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin in the last 60 months. With 15 facilities located throughout Illinois and Wisconsin, LRS controls and processes over 2.5 million tons of waste material per year and recycles or diverts over 50% of that volume. Position Summary As our Portables Laborer you are responsible for following company procedure to maintain portable restrooms through inspecting, washing, and repairing. You will wash out equipment daily, test equipment in yard, know how to water up, dump truck, and fuel up etc. As a Laborer you are required to know how to operate a motor vehicle and be able to haul trailers. You must further have some mechanical knowledge in order to uncover equipment/maintenance issues to ensure equipment is running properly. Responsibilities Perform pre- and post- washout & maintenance procedures; keep restroom trailers clean and free of trash and debris. Maintain equipment and follow preventative maintenance procedures. Communicate with Portables Manager, record and track maintenance procedures. Keep track of inventory. Complete work assignments in a safe and efficient manner to avoid damage and accidents whenever possible. Communicate professionally with drivers. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications/Knowledge/Critical Skills Must be 18 years of age. Must not have any DUIs or OVIs within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years. Must not have any license suspensions within the last 2 years. Must successfully complete pre-employment physical testing Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs signals, and safety training. Mechanical background preferred. Physical Demands/Environmental Factors Enter and exit commercial vehicle regularly throughout the day. Comfortability working outside. Flexible in shift changes as season progresses.
