The Custodial Porter plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness of designated campus buildings, amenities, and the surrounding grounds. The Life Family Facilities Custodial Porter, is responsible for supporting campus activities through routine vacuuming and mopping of campus floors, dusting, finger print removal from solid surfaces, sanitizing restroom facilities and collecting trash to ensure the building's occupants have a clean space.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Movement of church furniture, equipment, and supplies manually or with hand cart
• Restock consumables and supplies throughout the facility
• Perform minor repairs, including changing light bulbs, clearing clogged drains and toilets, maintaining custodial equipment, and reporting repairs and safety hazards to supervisor
• Ensures a clean, neat and orderly work areas, cleans and maintains supplies, tools and equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) AND Safety Data Sheet (SDS) standards
• General building maintenance ranging from basic carpentry and plumbing to minor electrical or painting and decoration may be required
• Perform general custodial duties, including emptying wastebaskets
• Follow chemical usage directions and departmental procedures to clean, sanitize and maintain work areas to company standards
• Adherence to proper use of chemical cleaning agents and equipment
• Operate equipment such as vacuums, extractors, scrubbers, power washers, blowers, and small hand tools
• Follow proper procedures in handling hazardous materials
• Communicate with building users while performing custodial work and providing customer service
• Perform general labor tasks, such as pressure washing, exterior clean up, or other cleaning projects
• Provide support for events, including setting up tables and chairs, assisting in moving equipment, setting up and taking down furniture and equipment

Essential Skills:

• Must be able to understand oral & written communications in English
• Ability to follow and complete a daily schedule and monitor work results
• Ability to work harmoniously with other members of the Facility Services team to ensure that all custodial needs are met
• Valid Texas driver's license is preferred
• Knowledge of custodial, janitorial or housekeeping practices
• Required to work flexible shifts to support Church functions
