Job Title: Porter / Shop Assistant Payroll Status: Hourly / Non-Exempt Reports to: Operations Manager, Trucking Location: Brecksville, OH Purpose: Supports the trucking dept by maintaining the cleanliness and condition of the trucks and garage areas keeping all areas of the shop and surrounding locations clean, organized, and free of safety hazards. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Wash exterior of fuel tankers
  • Power wash and maintain cleanliness of wash bay including walls and floor
  • Help maintain shop cleanliness and organization to include tools and supplies
  • Move vehicles on the lot so they can be easily accessible
  • Track vehicles that are scheduled for repair and help communicate to appropriate parties
  • Test drive vehicles to ensure repairs are completed properly
  • Refuel pool vehicles and ensure they are kept clean
  • Respond to pick up and transport team members in the event of a breakdown
  • Assist in maintaining appearance of corporate office grounds as well as card lock on site
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with Corporate and OSHA standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Valid drivers license required, Class A CDL preferred
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently, completing assigned tasks in a safe and timely manner
  • Ability to use power and hand tools
  • Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 75 pounds
  • Must be comfortable climbing ladders and working outdoors in all types of weather
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching throughout the course of the shift. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle or feel and reach. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
