Position Profile

The Portfolio Associate role reports to a Director within the Place Matters portfolio. The Portfolio Associate will be responsible for key administrative, operational, and planning support across a variety of the portfolio's programming needs. The Portfolio Associate will also support the work of the portfolio's investment management process and strategic initiatives as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following. With senior team members' guidance and collaboration, the Associate will support:

Investments Sourcing & Due Diligence

  • Conduct research and analysis in support of current and potential investments and synthesize and communicate findings.
  • Provide quantitative and qualitative research and analysis of investments' impact and potential growth.
  • Assist in the creation of financial analyses of investments, including financial projections.
  • Help draft written and visual communications and presentation materials for external parties (e.g., investees and prospective investees) and key stakeholders.
  • Support drafting investee semi-annual performance reports.

Place Matters Operations Initiatives

  • Help with producing ongoing communications and reporting for Place Matters
  • Support the development of presentation material for internal decision-making.
  • Provide thought-partnership on process improvements across the portfolio.
  • Capture, summarize, and synthesize internal and external meetings elevating salient themes for broader visibility.
  • Support development and management of budgets and contracts.
  • Help to develop and maintain the team's ongoing work and project plans including updating the status of key tasks on an ongoing basis.

Grants Management

  • Support relationship management for Place Matters investees and stakeholders.
  • Support engagement with investees on special projects as needed.
  • Develop recommendations for ongoing engagement with investees/stakeholders and new Place Matters initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

  • Aligned with Blue Meridian's mission and core values.
  • At least three years of professional experience in a related field and a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with a professional and friendly demeanor, and the ability to work with people with different backgrounds and experiences.
  • Analytical skills in quantitative and qualitative methods.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Sound judgment and discretion.
  • Results-oriented and delivery-focused.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and the ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Willing to travel as needed.

Preferred

  • Experience working with complex, high-growth organizations.
  • Experience with customer relationship management system (CRM) highly desirable.

Hiring Salary

Blue Meridian Partners aims to provide a comprehensive and competitive total compensation package.

The hiring salary for this position is $98,000. In addition to the base salary, and eligible to receive a performance-based variable incentive bonus.
