Post Doctoral Research Associate - Biology - North Carolina A & T State University : Job Details

The Niere lab in the Department of Biology is seeking a Post-Doctoral Research Associate to work on projects studying the synaptic mechanisms underlying learning and memory in physiological and disease states. The studies will involve a variety of approaches and tools including large-scale proteomics, electrophysiology, behavior, and microscopy.

The successful applicant should have a solid understanding of neuroscience and mechanisms of translational regulation. The position is on a yearly basis with support from NIH and NSF.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit

The Department of Biology is an academic unit within the College of Science and Technology, seeking to provide undergraduate and graduate students with an inviting environment that inspires them to become leaders in their fields and areas of expertise related to biological sciences. The Department of Biology offers degree programs in General Biology, and a Pre-medical Track at the B.S. level, General Biology at the M.S. level, and a doctoral concentration in Bioscience in the multidisciplinary PhD program in Applied Science and Technology. The Department also offers a minor program Biology. The Department of Biology has more than seven hundred and eighty-five (785) enrolled undergraduates and approximately twenty (20) enrolled master's students, and also enroll approximately thirty (30) PhD students under the PhD program in Applied Science and Technology. Biology is housed in Barnes Hall, and currently has eighteen (18) tenured, tenure-track or teaching assistant professor faculty members. The Department of Biology's mission is to educate students to become competent, competitive, and confident leaders who excel in global scientific community. Minimum Requirements

The employee will have already acquired a Ph.D. or equivalent acceptable degree in in neuroscience and/or related disciplines that fits within the scope of the duties and responsibilities.
