Devoted to a flexible family centered care model. Unit has 14 Labor Rooms, 7 surgical beds, 3 triage rooms, 2 operating rooms, and a Level I nursery with a 3 bed Special Care Nursery.STATUS: Full TimeLOCATION: Unity HospitalDEPARTMENT: Family Birth PlaceSCHEDULE: Days/Evenings/Nights; Weekends & HolidaysAttributes

Responsibilities
  • Assessment. Perform initial and ongoing assessment of the patient; demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment and advanced assessment skills; communicate and document assessment with interdisciplinary team; utilize all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and family
  • Planning & Implementation. Develop and document plan of care, treatment and services; collaborate interdisciplinary health team to deliver care; maintains an appropriate nurse-patient relationship and provides an exceptional experience for the patient and family
  • Evaluation & Education. Evaluate, communicate and document patient responses to care; revise plan of care based on ongoing evaluations; ensure the patient receives and understands education/training specific to their needs and abilities
  • Training. Provide training for new team members on the unit; assume role of teacher for nursing students and other students shadowing on the unit; act as a resource for other team members for both clinical and non-clinical matters
