Department: Buildings & General ServicesLocation: Middlesex, VT, USPosition Type: PermanentSchedule Type: Full TimeHourly Rate: $15.56OverviewThe Department of Buildings & General Services (BGS) is seeking a full-time Postal Specialist. This position will be cross-trained and will regularlyrotate through duties within the Postal center.Duties include, but are not limited to:Handling of large quantities of incoming and outgoing mail and parcels while acting as the State's agent to USPS and other outside vendorsProviding security screening of incoming mailOperating a box truck/cargo van to locations from Waterbury to Barre on daily delivery and pick-up routesPicking up and delivering records boxesOperating automated machinery to capture savings on outgoing lettersAnswering and/or communicating customer questions and concernsEducating customers on postal best practices, cost savings, and postal regulationsThis position will work from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, with a scheduled hour lunch. Exposure to adverse weather conditions is present during pick-up and delivery.
