Join us as a Power Distribution Engineer and be part of this success.POSITIONIn this role, you will thrive with various power distribution project design opportunities. The Engineer will support the planning, designing, and consulting of distribution-related projects with our clients. This opportunity will also focus on leading and expanding our power design group within the company. These responsibilities include:
  • Lead and develop the firm's power distribution group.
  • Provide technical design expertise on medium voltage projects related to overhead and underground power lines, substations, and utility pole design.
  • Conduct system modeling, coordination studies, and design calculations with co-op clients and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Applies appropriate codes and regulations in design work.
  • Consult with clients on project needs and conduct project analyses to develop design options.
  • Write/edit technical specifications
  • Perform QA/QC on the work of other Electrical Engineers, Electrical Coordinators, or Technicians.
  • Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, and change orders, and take responsibility for incorporating agreed-upon changes into the project documents.
  • Foster current client relations and pursue new client business opportunities.
  • Create brand awareness among potential clients and pursue scope and fee based work.
  • Participate in field reviews or construction observation.
  • Assist with preparing construction cost estimates and construction administration support.
  • Coordinate work of the electrical design team on large institutional/industrial projects through the schematic design development and construction document phases of a project.

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience with utility line and power distribution design projects within the consulting space.
  • PE license is preferred or can be obtained soon after hire.
  • Proficiency with design software (e.g.,Milsoft Windmill, PLS-CADD, Light Table, SKM, PoleForeman)
  • Proven client growth mindset
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • A valid driver's license and an insurable driving record is required for periodic travel
