Overview:

We are seeking an experienced PowerBuilder Developer to join a critical modernization project for our client. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to leverage your expertise in PowerBuilder and EAServer technologies to transform legacy systems into modernized platforms. The ideal candidates will have a proven track record in successfully migrating complex PowerBuilder/EAServer applications to Appeon PowerBuilder and a Microsoft-based web service middleware. This project is a part of a broader IT modernization initiative, providing an opportunity for long-term engagement in high-impact technology efforts.

Duties:

• Rewrite existing EAF framework Java classes that currently support the JSP-to-Jaguar calls (via CORBA) into C#.

• Work extensively with EAServer Enterprise Application Framework (DDS EAF) and PowerBuilder technologies to modernize legacy applications to Appeon PowerBuilder and Microsoft middleware.

• Conduct code reviews and provide knowledge transfer sessions to client IT staff, ensuring comprehensive understanding of the new architecture.

• Create detailed technical documentation including architecture diagrams, technical specifications, technology roadmaps, and project-related documentation such as risks, issues, and schedules.

• Collaborate effectively in a remote work environment with client IT staff and project team members to ensure high-quality deliverables.

• Contribute to code deployment processes across DEV, QA, and Production environments and provide remediation for post-deployment issues.

• Assist in project management activities, including developing testing results and providing technical recommendations to stakeholders.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience in successfully migrating 3-tier PowerBuilder systems to modern, supported platforms.

• 6+ years of experience specifically with the EAServer Enterprise Application Framework (DDS EAF).

Preferred Skills:

• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to:

• Provide highly effective knowledge transfer to client IT staff.

• Create detailed written documentation such as technical specifications, architecture diagrams, technology roadmaps, and project management documentation (risks, issues, schedules).

• Demonstrated ability to successfully work effectively in a remote environment while maintaining a high level of collaboration with all project team members.
