Prep Cook - Crooked Hammock BrewerySummary of Position: The Prep Cook at Crooked Hammock Brewery will cook and prepare a variety of food products including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, sauces, stocks, breads and other food products using a variety of equipment and utensils according to the Daily Prep List. Must Enjoy the Ride! Duties & Responsibilities:
- Complete opening and closing checklists
- Refer to the Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties
- Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment
- Understands and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures
- Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications
- Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, walls, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment
- Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
- Promptly reports equipment and food quality problems to the Kitchen Manager
- Inform Kitchen Manager immediately of product shortages
- Uses our Standard Recipe Card for preparing all products. Do not rely on the memory of yourself or other employees
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or manager-on-duty
- Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products prepared
- Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures
- Handles, stores and rotates all products properly
- Live the brand and be a brand ambassador; make decisions in the best interest of the business every time
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years full-service restaurant kitchen experience preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Culinary degree preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age and eligible to work in the United States
- Must have reliable transportation to/from work
- Must possess strong understanding of cooking methods & procedures, and knife handling skills
- Ability to perform tasks with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail
- Ability to read & follow cooking directions and other instructions pertaining to the position
- Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment
- Basic written & verbal communication skills
- Must be organized with a self-starter & motivated work ethic
- Must be a team player
- Must be able to stand, bend, stretch, lift, and carry heavy materials up to 50lbs
Compensation: This position starts at
