- Assists Preschool Instructors with planning the preschool program
- Assist Preschool Instructors with instructing and supervising children during activities; provides appropriate discipline and guidance as needed
- Ensures safety practices and administers First Aid and performs CPR if necessary
- Assists Preschool Instructors with all activities and responsibilities, including set-up and cleanup
- Communicates on a daily basis with parents during pick-up and drop off
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.Education: High School Diploma or GEDExperience: Experience in childcare and customer service preferred Licenses and/or Certifications Required:
- CPR and First Aid Certifications are required.
- Must meet Teacher Assistant qualification per the State of Colorado licensing requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to effectively convey information to students
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to physically withstand exposure to varying weather conditions, chemicals, warm temperatures and other conditions found in the pool areas
- Knowledge of and ability to physically perform and demonstrate various rescue techniques, life-saving procedures and water safety instruction
- Ability to exercise independent judgment to apply facts and advisory data to problem resolution. Advisory data includes Town of Castle Rock Personnel Guidelines, Parks and Recreation policies and procedures, Certified Pool Operators Manual, and lifeguarding manuals.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform CPR and first aid
- Occasional lifting, carrying, walking and standing
- Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Frequent hand/eye coordination to operate personal computer and office equipment, classroom equipment, and other teaching instruments
- Vision for reading, interpreting, and presenting information
- Speech communication and hearing to maintain communication with employees, citizens, and classroom participants
Work Environment:
- Works primarily in a clean, comfortable environment
Equipment Used:
- This position may require the incumbent to occasionally use personal equipment (e.g. vehicle, cell phone, tools, etc.) in the course of their employment
