PRESCHOOL TEACHER - Addie Mae Collins Community : Job Details

Teacher will plan lessons using the Creative Curriculum and in accordance with NYCDOE Standards. She/he is directly responsible for setting up classroom activities, supervising the children and area volunteers in their daily activities. This individual delegates tasks to the assistant teacher and any classroom aides. Individual must have a Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education, NYS Certification, pass required federal, state, and city background clearance and have an understanding of the community.

Should have completed a minimum bachelors in early childhood education or related field. (Other areas

must be approved by NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Child Care Licensing Bureau.

Possess a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of pre-school age children.

Must be able to or have completed NYS Education Licensing requirements.

Exceptional organization skills, capacity for teamwork, sense of humor, and patience.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated oral, written, and computer literacy abilities

Knowledge of Head Start, NYSDOE and the Federal State, and City regulations for pre-school education

domains a plus.
