Job Summary: Byer Steel is a privately owned Rebar Mill, Rebar Fabrication and Scrap Metal Business seeking a driven and experienced individual to set and provide strategic guidance for the company by working with the owner and management team to establish short, medium, and long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies in both sales and operations. This person will be the leader of Sales and Operations functions at Byer Steel and will oversee initiatives to increase rebar sales, quality, and productivity. This is a prominent leadership role, working on-site, overseeing a team of Managers and Supervisors, dedicated to maximizing profitability, safety, and long-term growth of the company.
Essential Job Duties:
Work with management team and CEO to develop, organize, implement, direct, and evaluate the organization's strategy and review past performance with a focus on constant improvement.Enforce policies of the organization to improve overall effectiveness and safety.Manage and engage with rebar and scrap salespeople, including revisiting existing incentive structures and sales programs to motivate the team to achieve sales goals.Create and implement sales and marketing plans, establishing formal sales processes.Negotiate agreements with distribution partners and vendors.Lead regular weekly sales and strategy meetings.Identify periodic sales training courses or programs for the sales team's ongoing professional development.Gather market intelligence through networking and industry publications.Conduct research to expand into new markets and opportunities.Represent Byer Steel professionally in front of key customers and influencers at various events.Oversee daily operations of Recycling and Rebar businesses.Manage operational performance against established company KPIs.Identify and drive continuous improvement projects to increase productivity, profitability, and safety.Lead daily operational meetings to address schedules and operational issues.Monitor inventory and determine rolling schedules for Byer Steel rebar mill.Manage procedures for proper inventory controls and identify areas of improvement.Assist with raw material procurement and price negotiations.Track Key Performance Indicators and report to CEO and management team on trends.Collaborate with the controller to report financial results in a timely manner.Establish budgets for divisions and appropriate reporting structures.Identify gaps, needs, and opportunities, collaborating with Management on solutions.Build connections within the organization, demonstrating respectful leadership.Work with CEO and Controller on negotiations with key professional service partners.Learn industry-specific software systems (ASA, Mas100, Mas500, RIMAS) for data management.#J-18808-Ljbffr
