Press Brake Operator

Job Purpose: Operation of the Press Brake Machine

FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Independently set up & operate Amada Press Brake Machine
  • Ensure proper tooling and fixturing as well as reporting operation times Interfacing with programmers, engineers and other team members for problem solving
  • Work within tolerances of +-.005 in sheet metal up to thick
  • Can perform single and multiple set ups on single brake
  • Program and form parts at press brake using blueprint within designated tolerance
  • Record inspection measurements using dial/digital calipers, protractors, and height gages
  • Work with aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and copper materials
  • Study, understand, and follow assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, job travelers, facility procedures, and parts list
  • Maintain orderliness of product, equipment, tools, supplies, ESD, part handling and inventory points within Fabrication
  • Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or by reading measurements
  • Report assembly, equipment, material, and/or quality problems to Manager to obtain additional resources or direction
  • Complete preventive maintenance per schedule/instructions
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with PPE procedures, work rules, and regulations
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms
  • Contribute to a team effort by accomplishing related tasks, or rotating through different processes/jobs as required or directed
  • Operate per established Company Policies and Procedures
  • Other tasks as assigned by Management

Qualifications:

  • Press Brake experience of at least 3-5 years
  • Recent experience with running, set-up and operation of press brakes, recent Amada press brake experience preferred
  • Experience with Deburr machines, Turret Punch Presses, Shears and Haegers a plus
  • Has performed single and multiple setups on one press brake
  • Require ability to read blue prints, dial & digital calipers & height gauges
  • Able to form parts within tolerance as tight as +-.005
  • Program own dimensions off blueprints preferred
  • Must have worked with aluminum, steel & stainless materials
  • Works well both independently and as a team player
  • Oral and written communication skills for a team environment
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds without assistance
  • Detail oriented, organized, analytical
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
