Role Summary To manufacture quality parts as directed within an acceptable time frame to assist the organization in meeting all MAFACT and customer's requirements and to perform the assigned task in a safe manner. All aspects & functions involved in the Press Operator I's role of producing quality parts in a MAFACT team process and responsible for all phases of die setting in effective manner. Key Responsibilities
  • Perform coil changes (Align the die, steel, feeder, etc. and secure the equipment as required).
  • Set up Peripheral equipment such as guards, conveyors, lubricators, and unloading devices.
  • Perform related labor as required to clean up, set up, and organize.
  • Facilitate activities in work cell to ensure achievement of OEE targets.
  • Obtain first piece approval before die set is complete.
  • Responsible to produce quality parts according to customer specifications.
  • Responsible to perform all required quality checks utilizing gages and other measuring devices.
  • Responsible to support Die setters with changeovers and responsible for minor adjustments.
  • Follow tagging and labeling requirements.
Education and/or Experience High School diploma or G.E.D. 2-3 years die setting experience. Results-oriented team player, excellent attendance, high energy level and good attention to detail. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely. Ability to use gauges, tooling and other equipment used in die setting. Ability to perform heavy manual labor such as bolting dies into the presses, etc. Understanding of fundamental operation of press equipment and tooling. Must be able to work required hours. Additional Skills Language Skills: Ability to read and write and comprehend instructions in English and correspondence such as safety rules and operating instructions. Ability to document forms as required by position. Must be able to communicate in both written and spoken English. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of AS400 and ability to use bar code labeling system. Reasoning Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Communication Skills: Ability to use active listening. Ability to give positive and constructive feedback effectively. Problem Solving Skills: Understands and can apply 5 Why mythology, creativity to find robust and effective solutions to problems. 07--Operations F--Permanent/Regular
