Together, we are committed to a safe working environment for all of us. Press Department operators produce a wide variety of molding presses to form and cure rubber products. Under training to operate automatic and/or manual equipment to process batches of bulk materials/ingredients in accordance with operating procedures. Inspects equipment and its auxiliaries (e.g. apron conveyor, belt conveyors, hydraulic system, all discharge chutes, leakages from gear box or fluid couplings) before starting of equipment. Your Responsibilities
- Load presses with preformed rubber, inserts, and molds and check weights for required prep.
- Unload molds/products and exercise great care to prevent damage.
- Operate multiple presses simultaneously.
- Move stock inserts and products using hand/fork trucks to hoist to and from work area.
- Maintain an orderly work area and ensure equipment is clean.
Key Accountabilities
- Participate in carrying out routine and prestart checks using checklist, prior to starting equipment and for running equipment.
- Participate in start-up and operation of equipment (e.g. crusher) machines used in production processes.
- Participate in clearing of hopper blockages as per the safety procedures.
- Provide input to production records and shift reporting.
- Assist maintenance during plant shutdown and crusher long stoppages.
- Promote a culture of personal and team safety, including others who may be affected by the company's operational activities.
