Made Possible.PRESS OPERATORWAGES BEGINNING at $21.57 per hour!!!!WE ARE GRAPHIC PACKAGING INTERNATIONAL in Clarksville, TNHere's What You Will Be Doing:Work within and adhere to GPI's core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and TeamworkEnsure production and distribution of products is consistent with established food safety, sanitation, and quality standardsMaintain 5S in assigned work area by keeping area and equipment clean and orderlyPerform all tasks necessary to complete product packaging within their assigned work areaSet up and maintain continuous operation of multi-color flexographic printing press, producing standard quality units of various types and sizes with proper color, coverage, and registrationAdjust ink flow and replenish inks, wash plates, ink fountains, and ink rollersLubricate, maintain (PM) and clean press according to schedule; clean and change doctor bladesMount and/or unmount printing plates and adjust plates for proper registration. Clean plates periodicallySplice and/or web paper through pressRemove jams and repair web breaksStart and stop machinery, as neededRemove rolls from rewind stand, put on proper identification flags, and band rollsInspect paper roll stock for adherence to specifications and reject defective paperRecognize problems with machinery and make decisions to stop operation of the machine if needed.Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks, i.e., basic cleaning of machine, etc.Remove paper jams and perform minor adjustmentsSegregate spoilage and recyclable items, placing material in appropriate containersEnsure that all equipment meets safety standards and is checked routinely throughout the shiftManage workload as necessary to ensure production requirements are met as well as shutdown, and start-up requirements before and after the completion of the shiftCommunicate effectively with outgoing/incoming shift concerning any issuesMeet required Key Performance MetricsFulfill overtime requirements as necessaryFulfill other duties as assigned; assisting in other areas as required by changing business needsQualifications / RequirementsManufacturing experience of 1-2 years3-5 years of experience as a Press Operator or Press Operator on a heatset web press (offset or flexo), highly preferredDemonstrated mechanical aptitude; must have the skills necessary to perform technical tasksVisual acuity to recognize distinct colorWell-developed communication and interpersonal skillsSelf-motivated and able to work with minimal supervisionMaintains positive team environmentDemonstrates organizational skills and highly detail orientedAbility to work in a fast-pace, multi-task environmentAbility to follow verbal and written instructionAbility to perform the essential physical functions of the position, with or without accommodation. This includes walking or standing for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours; climbing stairs; lifting up to 50 pounds; carrying up to 30 pounds; lowering up to 30 pounds from a height of 4 feet; pushing up to 250 pounds using carts or other various tools; visual acuity and depth perception; working in various temperatures and humidity levelsGraphic Packaging is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
