Press Operator - Level 3Department: ProductionFLSA Status: Non-ExemptStatus: Full-timeJob Reports To: Pressroom ManagerThis position is responsible for assisting with the safeand efficient operation of the sheet-fedpress, web press, stitcher-trimmer, folder / trimmer, and other machinery critical to theproduction of printed materials. It is the entry level position in our press room.Job FunctionsThe successful candidate must be dependable, self-starting, attentive to details and receptive totraining. This position actively assists with the following duties:• Feeding papers into pockets on the stitcher-trimmer. Bundling, strapping, and palletizingfinished product, and preparing pallets for shipping.• Operation of the cutter / folder for finished gloss products.• Staging and feeding gloss paper in the sheet-fed paper.• Maintain quality control by observing flaws and correcting them or bringing them to theattention of other press operators.• Maintain a safe, clean, and productive work area and follow all company, local, state, andfederal regulations.• This position may be trained to operate forklifts and electric pallet jacks.Minimum Requirements:• Track record of dependability with demonstrated ability to consistently report on time forassignments.• Ability to read and interpret written instructions and job jackets.Technology Skills:• Ability to be trained in the safe and efficient operation of machinery mentioned above.Physical Demands:• Frequent standing, walking, squatting, bending at the waist, and carrying.• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.Education:• High school diploma or equivalent work experience preferred.We are an equal opportunity employer.
