SUMMARY
Sets up and operates power press to trim, punch, shape, notch, draw, or crimp metal, composite, or plastic stock by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
* Assembles, installs, and aligns dies in press according to specifications.
* Adjusts ram stroke to specified length.
* Positions workpiece against fixtures or stops on machine bed or on die.
* Starts press and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction.
* Inspects workpieces for conformance to specifications and adjusts machine to correct errors. Cleans and lubricates machines.
Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
