Position Overview

The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Pretreatment Program Administrator in the Department of Utility Services. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.
Under general supervision, plans, supervises, reviews, evaluates and coordinates the work of the Citys Pretreatment Program and applicable staff; oversees complex inspections, monitoring, and sampling of industrial users; assesses compliance, identifies violations, and manages enforcement of pretreatment regulations to ensure state and federal requirements are met; and performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a closely related field
+ Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a pretreatment program or in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment, collection, and reclaimed facilities, two (2) years of which must have been at the supervisory, journeyman, or lead level
+ Note: An equivalent combination of related education, experience, and training may be considered
+ Must possess a valid Nevada or border state driver's license or the ability to obtain one upon hire as defined by NRS 483
+ Must possess a current and valid Grade III Industrial Waste Inspector Certification, or higher, by the State of Nevada at time of application
+ Must obtain a Grade IV Industrial Waste Inspector Certification by the State of Nevada within one (1) year of hire
+ All required licenses and certificates, as mandated by federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, or as required herein, must be obtained at the incumbents expense
+ Employee must maintain certificates and licenses for the position in good standing as a condition of continued employment
+ Employee may be expected to obtain certification through the City of Henderson in: CPR, First Aid, HazMat, Confined Space, and Infectious Disease
+ Desirable: Grade IV Industrial Waste Inspector Certification by the State of Nevada at time of application
