Job Summary: The Preventative Maintenance Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the ongoing functionality, safety, and longevity of equipment and facilities within an organization. This position involves supervising a team of maintenance technicians and coordinating preventative maintenance activities to proactively address and mitigate equipment breakdowns and facility-related issues. Job Responsibilities:
Supervision and Team Leadership: - Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring their training, motivation, and productivity.
- Schedule and assign tasks, projects, and duties to team members to maintain optimal preventative maintenance operations.
- Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing feedback, coaching, and support for continuous improvement.
Preventative Maintenance Planning: - Use and maintain the company provided CMMS program for all equipment and facilities.
- Follow provided QPM & PM checklists, and task lists to ensure timely and systematic maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and prioritize equipment and facility maintenance needs.
Inspection and Assessment: - Conduct regular inspections of equipment, machinery, and facilities to identify potential issues and safety hazards.
- Analyze data and reports to assess the condition of assets, taking necessary actions to prevent breakdowns or accidents.
Maintenance Execution: - Oversee the execution of preventative maintenance tasks, including lubrication, calibration, cleaning, and replacement of parts as required.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards during maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with technicians to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
Inventory Management: - Maintain an accurate inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment required for preventative maintenance activities.
- Coordinate procurement and restocking of supplies to minimize downtime.
Documentation and Reporting: - Keep detailed records of all maintenance activities, including equipment service history and maintenance logs.
- Generate reports and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Communicate maintenance results and needs to management and other relevant stakeholders.
Budget Management: - Assist in developing and managing the preventative maintenance budget.
- Monitor expenditures and make recommendations for cost-effective solutions.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as mechanical engineering or facilities management) or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in preventative maintenance, with a strong understanding of equipment and facility systems.
- Supervisory or leadership experience, demonstrating effective team management skills.
- Proficiency in maintenance management software and tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance in maintenance operations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Special Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, kneel, and ben
- Exposure to moderate to loud noise within the work environment.
- Exposure to heavy concentrations of grain dust.
- Ability to frequently move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- Ability to frequently wear personal protective equipment correctly, including respirators, fall protection, safety glasses, hard hat, etc.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
- Ability to comfortably work at heights of approximately 200 ft.
- Ability to work in outdoor work environment, including various climates, weather conditions, and inclement weather, approximately 80% of the time.
- Ability to perform all job responsibilities with necessary special demands for up to 8 hours per day.
