We are looking for the next member of our team to do just that as an integral part of our economic development efforts.This role requires a leader who can be inventive and bold while delivering operational excellence and program success. They will have the opportunity to create and lead a portfolio of programs within our team's broader efforts to develop sustainable and durable economic and workforce development partnerships in prospective communities and in those where we already operate. This includes analyzing labor demand and supply side dynamics, building novel partnership models and approaches, marshalling internal and external resources, aligning external political leadership, and partnering with other allied employers and educational institutions (globally and at all levels). This role requires balancing competing priorities in an ambiguous environment.
Key job responsibilitiesThe role will be responsible for identifying evolving opportunities and leading an entrepreneurial approach to developing new solutions and approaches, building consensus internally and externally, iterating through real world pilot launches, fostering adoption, and driving implementation to scale.
About the teamAWS Economic Development is a part of the Global Public Policy team and we work seamlessly with our public policy teammates, internal customers (particularly AWS infrastructure teams), and colleagues across Amazon.com to drive a robust and highly successful portfolio of data center infrastructure-based workforce development programs.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS10+ years' experience in education leadership, consulting, workforce development, economic development, public policy, or related experience.
