Job Description :

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Principal Ecommerce UX Designer in San Francisco, CA.

Summary: This Rapid Experiment team is unique in that they are constantly and quickly iterating features on the ecommerce website, ultimately to see what changes may drive business value and conversion on the website. The Rapid Experimentation program is all about identifying friction points in the ecommerce experience (site entry, product page, product finding, search, checkout, etc.) and producing solutions/tests to run to optimize each aspect of the funnel. This comes down to rapid UX discovery (coming up with a point of view on a feature, looking at analytics, competitive audit, research, proof points, session replays, etc.) and turning multiple designs around quickly to test. A candidate for this role must be able to deliver effective interaction design solutions in a fast-paced environment, have strong presentation and communication skills, with thick skin, able to iterate and move on as needed or if a test/design fails. This role is different than a classic UX design role, as they do not follow the normal process of conducting customer interviews, doing usability testing, etc.

Requirements
  • B.S./B.A. or higher in User Experience Design, Information Design, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, or related fields
  • 5 years of experience in interactive design and user experience
  • Well-rounded background within the ecommerce domain, experience around site optimization and high transaction websites for features like product lists, product page, checkout, etc.
  • Deep understanding of what drives Ecommerce KPIs
  • Passion for site optimization and experimentation
  • Strong visual and interaction design (using Figma)
  • Ability to rapidly produce multiple design solutions for experiments
  • Comprehensive understanding of UX principles and best practices; Able to bring a strong UX POV to the table
  • Strategic thinker and ability deliver tactically
  • Proven record of impactful optimization improvements
  • Strong organizational skills to manage fast-paced schedule and project work
  • Able to contribute to a strategic vision for Ecommerce improvements
  • Excellent communicator and presenter
Rapid Testing Themes:
  • Understanding of forming hypotheses, experimental mindset
  • Ecom savvy, understanding what drives business impact
  • Ability to rapidly iterate multiple designs and then narrowing down, having POV on best options
  • Laser focus on every pixel, every word, every interaction
  • Rapid UX discovery process, ability to fly without personas
  • Knowing tech underbelly, what's 'easy' vs 'hard' and factors/components to manipulate
  • Differences to consider for experimentation vs. productization
Design & Presentation Themes:
  • Ability to boil it down to 10 second pitch, summarize for executive
  • UX innovation within a design system or established design space
  • Concept sharing, not navigating huge Figma files, easily show A vs. B
Additional Qualifications:
  • Experimental psychology, Psychology/Behavioral Science background
