Expected salary range of $117,000 to $130,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Under the general direction of the Ethics Office and Labor and Employment counsel and as part of the Centralized Investigations Team, lead internal investigations into concerns related to equal employment opportunity and a respectful workplace for all employees. Provide proactive and objective investigatory guidance and support to various stakeholders, including Human Resources and business leadership, with goal of ensuring that the Business Code of Conduct and other company policies, including policies against discrimination, harassment and retaliation, are promoted and adhered to throughout the enterprise. This role has primary responsibility for equal employment opportunity and respectful workplace investigation activities and will be looked to within the Legal Department and other organizations as a subject matter expert in this area.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Working under minimal direction, conduct investigations through all phases of the investigation cycle from complaint intake to preparation of investigatory findings.
  • Ensure accurate case reporting and identify trends and/or potential risks based on investigations conducted. Support development of recommendations to address those trends.
  • Partner with Ethics, Human Resources Operations and business leadership to establish productive relationships, provide guidance and assist with addressing trends where appropriate.
  • Actively participate in the development of the strategy, policy and process for the Centralized Investigations Team.
  • Stay up to date on developments in the employee investigations industry and serve as subject matter expert on investigations techniques and best practices.
  • Perform additional duties related to Ethics and labor and employment compliance as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a BA or BS and 8-10 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent investigation and writing skills.
  • Strong time management skills, including the ability to prioritize competing demands and to handle numerous investigations simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal directly with cross functional groups to establish trust, communicate effectively, and build consensus.
  • Proven ability to gain the trust and confidence of others, protect confidential information, and handle sensitive investigations with tact and diplomacy.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience conducting investigations or handling personnel matters in the nuclear industry.
  • 5-10 years HR experience, advanced degree, MBA or Masters degree in related HR field or a JD with labor and employment experience.
  • Location near Baltimore, Chicago, or other Constellation business sites is preferred but not required, and opportunities for fully remote work may be available.
