In this role, you will be at the forefront of launching the Azure Operator Nexus hybrid cloud at AT&T, working alongside a team of experts responsible for shaping the future of telecommunications. As part of this dynamic team, you will collaborate with both internal and external partners, such as Microsoft, to design, integrate, and launch our state-of-the-art platform, with focus on fabric, networking and connectivity capabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience with cloud computing technologies, such as Microsoft Azure, as well as familiarity with the cloud automation and security in addition to deep L2-L3 networking background.What You'll Do:Drive the design and integration of the Azure Operator Nexus hybrid cloud platform with focus on networking within the cloud and WAN facing.Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop innovative cloud solutionsand in particular drive networking capabilities, designs and implementation approaches across 5G Core Network Functions and components, AT&T network and within hybrid cloud.Apply your deep hands on networking expertiseand knowledge of cloud computing technologies to optimize our platform and networkfor running a telecommunications-grade networkEnsure the solution adheres to industry and internal network andsecurity standards and best practicesDesign and develop automation solutions to deploy, certify, and manage a nation-wide deployment of cloud infrastructure services and lifecycle associated with that as our 5G core, cloud and network evolveLead efforts across many phases of development, from Concept through Proof of Concept, Design, Validation and Delivery.Desired Skills:In-depth knowledge of IP networking for large scale data center and ISP networks and industry standards and best practicesExperience designing data center and ISP networks, optimizing for inter-AS connectivity, route convergence, scale, QoSExperience with MPLS VPN technologies and routing techniques and industry best practicesExpertise in SW and HW implementations of network and networking equipment (across routers, switches, servers, NIC cards)In-depth knowledge of cloud computing platforms and their respective infrastructure services, including a strong understanding of popular cloud service providers, such as Microsoft AzureExperience with the major HW components of a cloud (compute, storage, fabric) and the physical and logical hardware design of a cloudExperience with CI/CD and cloud infrastructure automationTrack record of learning new technologies and practical application of that knowledgeFamiliarity with virtualization and containerization, including an understanding of KubernetesKnowledge and experience of cloud security practicesExperience in Software Development and Agile development practices (familiarity with Python a plus)Education and Experience: PhD in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Masters in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; or a Bachelors in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.Our Principal Member of Technical Staff earn between $180,200.00 - $270,400.00 USD Annual.
