Job Description :

Summary - Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership in the design of power electronics controls for power conversion systems. Expertise in hardware, firmware and software with a concentration in control algorithms.
  • Development of control architecture of power conversion systems to meet customers' requirements.
  • Develop dynamics simulations or power conversions systems for the purpose of analyzing and designing control systems.
  • Specify and design control algorithms for software implementation in the power converters for customer applications.
  • Implement and test algorithms to demonstrate and document performance to requirements.
  • Author requirements and test plans pertaining to the dynamic controls of power conversion systems.
  • Specify control components and power electronic components for customer's applications.
  • Interface to sales and marketing for generation specifications and evaluating technical feasibility of customer requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise to support current products and in the development of new products.

Education - Experience:

  • Minimum: BSEE
  • Preferred: MSEE or PhD in power electronics controls
  • Minimum: 3 to 5 year's experience in a similar position
  • Preferred: 5 to 10 year's experience

Required Skills, Competencies, Authorities and Training Needs:

  • Strong technical background in power electronics, control systems, power converters, electric utility power quality analysis or in systems integration of high power electronics
  • Significant design experience in control systems for power conversion equipment.
  • Experience in using commercial control system and power electronics simulation and analysis tools (MATLAB/Simulink and PLECS preferred).
  • Excellent customer interaction capability.
  • Excellent computer skills are essential (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to author technical documents and proposals.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident
