Daemen University is going beyond instrumental needs to foster the development of individuals who are dedicated to the health and well-being of local and global communities.Purpose of RoleThe print shop prepares and distributes photocopied, printed material and paper stock to campus departments.About This OpportunityJoining our Business Affairs -Print Shop team, the Print Shop Assistant 1 will be responsible for the following:Production and customer serviceOperate various digital printing systems and Fiery Command Station.Operate wide format digital color printing system.Operate guillotine cutting machine, folding, laminating and bindery machines.Operate computer and process incoming online orders.Process orders for printed materials received from campus offices.Exam duplication and security.Graphic design and typesetting as needed.Delivery of copy paper and completed jobs as needed throughout campus.Assist in departmental billing procedures as needed.Price quotations for campus departments and off campus clients.Assist in maintaining customer relations with off campus clients.Assist in ordering of equipment consumables.Assist in overall quality adjustments and preventative maintenance of equipment.$15 per hourRequired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:Knowledge of PC Computer, Microsoft Office, and Google Docs. Digital color printing experience. Customer service minded, production oriented and mechanically inclined. Basic math skills and ability to read a ruler. Ability to assess needs, generate options and implement solutions. Position requires the ability to protect confidential information. The ability to prioritize assignments, multitask and the ability to provide excellent customer service to members of the campus community. Ability to lift, up to fifty pounds, standing, sitting, bending are essential functions of this position.Required QualificationsHigh School Graduate or equivalent. Previous experience operating PC computers, copy machines and performing basic machine repairs required. Experience with paper cutters, folders and bindery machines preferred. Must demonstrate ability to operate machinery according to safety standards as instructed by the departmental supervisor.It is expected that all employees will represent the University in a professional manner at all times.
