Private Debt Associate - Selby Jennings : Job Details

Currently partnered with a leading Private Credit Firm in the Southeast looking to add a Private Credit Associate to their team. This individual will play a key role in sourcing, underwriting, and managing private credit investments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit analysis, financial modeling, and deal execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct due diligence on potential investment opportunities, including financial analysis, industry research, and risk assessment.
• Develop and maintain complex financial models to evaluate investment structures, returns, and risk scenarios.
• Assist in structuring and negotiating term sheets and loan agreements with borrowers.
• Support the execution of transactions, including working with legal and external advisors.
• Monitor and manage portfolio investments, including performance tracking, covenant compliance, and reporting.
• Collaborate with senior investment professionals to evaluate new deal flow and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities.
• Prepare and present investment committee materials and recommendations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulatory changes, and market developments.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or CFA preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in private credit, leveraged finance, investment banking, or a related field.
• Strong financial modeling skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Solid understanding of credit agreements, capital structures, and financial covenants.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Experience with deal execution and portfolio management is a plus.
