Salary : $58,648.40 - $67,445.66 AnnuallyLocation : 212 Oakley Plantation Drive, Moncks CornerJob Type: Full TimeJob Number: 01229Department: P&P Electrical MaintenanceOpening Date: 08/23/2023Closing Date: ContinuousJob Summary and Essential Functions This position typically provides the performance of skilled duties in the installation, preventive maintenance, repair and programming on all aspects of BCWS SCADA and Process Control Systems; oversees task scheduling and direct supervision/training of associate team members providing direction and assistance on a daily basis; and deals courteously and effectively with fellow employees. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Installs, programs and maintains Multismart Scada RTU's, Radios, Repeaters and antenna systems.
  • Installs, programs, calibrates and maintains all process control instruments/devices including but not limited to pressure, level, turbidity, chlorine analyzers, control panels, control valves, switches, relays, sampling equipment and other instrumentation devices.
  • Supervises and manages subordinate employees to ensure completion of projects and safety.
  • Performs all aspects of programming and maintenance of PLC controls, variable frequency drives and SCADA equipment including HMI development.
  • Enters and exits manholes, pump station wet wells and other confined spaces to perform inspections, maintenance and repairs.
  • Operates electrical measuring instruments and electronic test or calibrations equipment proficiently.
  • Documents all maintenance actions.
  • Manages departmental projects and assignments from inception to documented completion, including planning, specification and ordering of material and efficient utilization of available manpower.
  • Provides operational and procedural instruction to associate team members.
  • Schedules, plans and executes the departments' field activities ensuring compliance with OSHA, NEC, Local, State and Federal regulations.
  • Provides training for new personnel with a strong emphasis on safety while ensuring compliance with the organizations policies.
  • Participates in departmental on-call rotation.
  • Installs equipment such as amplifiers and repeaters in order to maintain the strength of communications transmissions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements to Perform Work
  • Associate's degree in Electrical Trade, Electronics or related field;
  • Eight (8) years of experience;
  • Or equivalent education, and/or experience.
Special Requirements:
  • Journeyman Electrician Certification is required.
  • Must possess a valid level Class B Wastewater Collection System Operator license. Personnel are required to maintain current certification as a condition of continued employment;
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license for South Carolina with safe driving record;
  • Departmental testing may be administered during interview;
  • A criminal background check will be completed on selected applicant if a current one (less than 3 years old) is not on file.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of HMI/PLC programming/analysis, PLC hardware, instrumentation and electronics, SCADA telemetry and process control equipment installation and operation testing and servicing.
  • Knowledge of routine motor maintenance including preventive maintenance and minor repair such as bearing replacement.
  • Knowledge of electrical theory, National Electric code and electrical safety procedures.
  • Ability to use and interpret all standard electrical/electronic test equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment operating and maintenance manuals, including schematics, drawings, blueprints and technical data instructions.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot and repair complex electrical circuits.
  • Ability to wear and use a self-contained breathing apparatus.
  • Ability to understand and comply with all safety regulations.
  • Ability to climb vertically 200 feet, including BCWS water towers and other associated structures to perform repairs and routine maintenance as required.
Physical Demands This position requires the employee to reach, pull and push with hands and arms; stand; use hands to handle, feel, finger, grasp or operate objects, tools or controls; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use mental acuity and repetitive motion; and walk, talk and hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to ninety-five (95) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Work Conditions The work is regularly performed in a dynamic environment that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities and needs. Thirty-seven and one half (37.5) hours per week. Normal working hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., with the ability to work after hours when necessary. Scheduled hours/days, job location, duties and any other information contained herein is subject to change.
