Job Summary:
The Process Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective production of safe, quality, pet food. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing techniques, and quality control standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Design and Development:
- Develop and implement new manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Analyze and optimize existing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed process changes.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvement initiatives, such as Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen.
- Analyze process data to identify root causes of problems and develop solutions.
- Monitor and measure process performance to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Equipment Selection and Installation:
- Select, procure, and install new manufacturing equipment.
- Develop and implement equipment maintenance and calibration procedures.
Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot process and equipment problems.
- Develop and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Develop and implement safety procedures and training programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and quality control standards.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Engineering or related field.
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
- Experience in pet food or human food manufacturing.
