In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our Emerging Technologies -Solid Dosage Forms US facility in Durham, NC is a 194,000 square foot tableting and packaging facility that supports the production of our innovative oral treatments for patients with type 2 diabetes. The Position

A new department is being to improve/develop systems & equipment for the core processes to meet all customer, business & regulatory requirements through the following activities: People Focus, Process Focus, Equipment Focus & Standards Gatekeeper . As a new position, this role will also provide technical support to resolve manufacturing issues related to process equipment. Continuously evaluate the manufacturing effectiveness and implement improvements to meet cycle times and product design specifications. Major objectives may include improving manufacturing operational efficiency, optimizing product design, qualifying replacement components, improving product quality, and reducing manufacturing costs. Continuously improve processes in order to achieve optimal efficiency for manufacturing operations and yield. Perform or reviews and monitoring of critical quality attributes/critical process parameters/ set points of equipment to maintain product quality and to control process drift.

Essential Functions

Physical Requirements

Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands. Strap & unstrap pallets using hands. Must be able to be on your feet for up to a 12-hour shift. May require corrected vision to 20/20 or 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. May be required to work at elevated heights. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials. May be required to wear latex gloves. May perform critical job functions in extremely cold work environments depending on site. May position oneself within confined spaces for inspection if required of the role. Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection. May be required to secure a motorized vehicle license & operate a motorized vehicle based on the role.
