Role Overview
Design and Engineering
- Develop and refine treatment systems utilizing advanced membrane processes, ion exchange, and other cutting-edge technologies.
- Create comprehensive engineering deliverables, including system design basis, process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), control narratives, datasheets, commissioning and performance testing plans, and operation & maintenance (O&M) manuals.
Project Management
- Prepare preliminary design documentation and cost estimates to support technical and commercial proposals.
- Manage water and wastewater treatment projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks.
Process Optimization
- Enhance treatment process designs by analyzing performance data, conducting trials, and implementing improvements in operational plants and subsequent projects to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Client Engagement
- Work closely with clients to understand their specific needs, provide technical expertise, and deliver tailored solutions to meet water and wastewater treatment challenges.
- Participate in client meetings, including bid clarifications, design reviews, and safety/quality assessments (e.g., HAZOP, FMEA).
Documentation and Reporting
- Develop detailed engineering reports, documentation, and presentations to effectively communicate project progress, findings, and recommendations.
Research and Development
- Stay informed on advancements in water and wastewater treatment technologies. Conduct research and contribute to the development of innovative products or processes that enhance the company's solutions.
Compliance and Standards
- Ensure that all treatment systems meet relevant industry regulations, standards, and permit requirements.
Team Collaboration
- Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, demonstrating strong communication and teamwork skills to drive project success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) is a plus.
- At least 3 years of experience in designing and implementing water or wastewater treatment systems, preferably in industrial or municipal settings.
- In-depth knowledge of wastewater treatment technologies, including membrane filtration, reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration, and ion exchange.
- Hands-on experience in commissioning or operations/maintenance of water or wastewater treatment plants is preferred.
- Familiarity with mechanical equipment, electrical systems, and instrumentation/automation is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel) and VBA programming.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and regulatory authorities.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to travel, including internationally, as required.
