Employee Mission - Process Engineer Deliver operational process improvements within our coating and converting manufacturing departments. Support site operations in utilizing application of engineering and lean manufacturing tools to improve manufacturing efficiencies and achieve operational cost improvement. Org Development - 10%
- Achieve 'meets or exceeds expectations' in Weekly 10 performance ratings for all MBO's and Key Responsibilities.
- Be an effective team player and work with site managers, supervisors, and production team members to establish and implement sustainable processes improvements by providing expertise, analytics, and process improvement recommendations to achieve site performance expectations.
Continuous Improvement - 70%
- Work safely, and actively participate in site safety improvement initiatives with site team members to identify and address safety concerns.
- Deliver > $500K annually on operational cost savings and continuous improvement projects (ie. scrap reduction, improvement in changeover, machine reliability and output improvement)
- Directly support the manufacturing team and processes to achieve and maximize machine performance targets while maintaining product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Provide leadership and technical expertise to the site manufacturing team to implement new manufacturing processes to improve site efficiency and support new product developments.
- Act as a technical strategy consultant to the Engineering, Purchasing, and Operations teams as they identify, prioritize, and execute projects.
- Support new product development by ensuring manufacturing of product designs, identifying, and addressing technical challenges as project team member.
- Support new equipment installation and startups as a project team member.
- Practice daily continuous improvement in all aspects of work, utilizing structed problem-solving when appropriate and communicating effectively with others. Incorporate customer and site requirements into all daily decision making.
Capital Budget/Project Execution 20%
- Assist with the development and administration of the site's annual capital budget plan.
- Complete all assigned projects on budget, on-time and deliver project payback expectations in compliance with our safety policies and company regulations.
Requirements:
- BS degree in Paper Science, Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Project Management, or other relevant science degree is preferred.
- > 5 years process engineering experience is preferred, but not required.
- Business knowledge of cost/benefits analysis, setting and executing long-term strategic plans.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing environments, processes, and procedures.
- Ability to identify and drive resolution of complex problems as both an individual contributor and facilitator.
- Experience in paper coating and converting operations preferred, but not required.
- Ability to support 2nd or 3rd shift production as needed per specific business or project requirement.
- Must have strong communication and analytical skills coupled with strong personal traits involving detail orientation, initiative, and urgency.
