Job Description :

AP Professionals has partnered with a local manufacturing company in search of a highly skilled Process Engineer with expertise in Python programming. The ideal candidate will have strong technical proficiency in optics, imaging, with a focus on product design and the development, configuration, and optimization of related manufacturing and metrology processes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to transition new products from concept to production, ensuring they meet customer specifications for both standard and custom products.
  • Design, develop, test, enhance, and document products, manufacturing processes, and test fixtures.
  • Create and update work instructions for manufacturing processes to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Establish, document, and maintain calibration and preventive maintenance procedures for manufacturing, inspection, measurement, and test equipment.
  • Develop and implement best practices, process improvements, and innovative solutions to enhance production efficiency, yield, and quality.
  • Identify and troubleshoot product quality issues, conduct root cause analyses, and provide detailed investigation reports and rework instructions.
  • Coordinate and execute ad-hoc engineering tests in collaboration with Operations.
  • Provide proactive second- and third-level support to production operations, diagnosing issues and determining the most effective solutions.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance line efficiency and reduce costs, while assisting in implementing other suggested enhancements.
  • Achieve financial and business goals by delivering accurate quality forecasts, managing programs within budget and timeline, resolving challenges, and driving strategic functional improvements.

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optical Engineering, Imaging Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.

Experience

  • 2–5 years of experience in image analysis, photolithography, and optics manufacturing.
  • Experience working within ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 quality management systems.
  • Preferred certification in Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or other process improvement methodologies.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Familiarity with barcode verification systems and industry standards such as ISO/IEC 15415, 15416, and 29158.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficiency in Python libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, and Pandas for data analysis and visualization.
  • Ability to develop custom Python-based tools for product assessment.
  • Knowledge of database systems, including SQL and NoSQL, for process data storage and retrieval.
