• Design and Development Planning:
• Walker Die Casting is not responsible for product design and development.
• Walker Die Casting follows the AIAG Advanced Product Quality Planning methodology for design and
• development of casting, trimming, deburring, machining and assembly processes

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Design and Development Inputs
• Customer Requirements and Targets for productivity, process capability, timing and cost

are identified, documented and reviewed through Job Review activities listed in sections through 1.7 of the APQP Manual Table of Contents

• Product design output data, including design for manufacturability and design for

assembly issues, are identified, documented and reviewed through Produce.

• Engineering Specs activities listed in section 2.0 of the APQP Manual Table of Contents
• Manufacturing technology alternatives and new materials are identified, documented and reviewed through the Feasibility Review activity listed in section 1.8 of the APQP Manual
• Table of Contents
• Experience from previous developments are identified, documented and reviewed through Historic Issue and Lessons Learned activities listed in sections 1.99 and 3.3 of the APQP Manual Table of Contents
• Product handling and ergonomic requirements are identified, documented and reviewed through Work cell Layout activities listed in section 8.0 of the APQP Manual Table of Contents
• Error-proofing methods are considered and incorporated into the manufacturing process where appropriate through the Mistake-proofing activity listed in section 3.2 of the APQP
