Hourly Pay Rate: $17.50 per hourActual base pay will be determined based on a successful candidate's work location, skills/abilities, experience, and education. This role includes opportunity to receive an annual bonus target of 5% of annual eligible earnings. Although we aren't perfect people, we are serving our perfect God to the best of our ability.The JobThe Processing Support Associate performs document analysis on medical bills, medical records, prescriptions, and related documents; and through research and data entry, prepares them to be processed electronically by Medical Bill Analysts. This role is responsible for accuracy, efficiency, and retrieval of data that is related to medical bills.Essential Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesAnalyze incoming documents to determine what category they fall under and what workflow they will be routed toPerform data entry of medical bills, prescriptions, and other document typesCommunicate with other departments as needed regarding missing information needed to process medical billsReview discrepancies in the data that is received, and perform data verification routinesInteract with other staff on matters affecting data and publications flow, and make recommendations for improvement or enhancement to job processes to ensure standards in data entry, collection, and retrieval are metPerform additional supportive duties to processing such as re-pricing, provider maintenance, and 3rd partyPerform daily mail-related tasks such as sorting, scanning, and indexing documents into the document management systemContribute to the exercise and expression of Christian Care Ministry's Christian beliefsPerform all other duties as assignedEssential Skills & AbilitiesStrong computer skills - ability to access and research complex medical procedures and terminologyProficiency in the use of the internet including e-mail and search engines, word processing and keyboard skills of at least 30 words per minute, ability to use a database system including how to update fields, basic knowledge of Microsoft office (Excel, Word and Outlook) and knowledge of a document imaging systemReading comprehension - ability to read large amounts of data in short periods of time and translate that information to determine document typeLanguage Skills -Ability to read and interpret electronic documents such as procedure manuals, medical records, medical bills, legal documents and insurance documentsReasoning Ability -Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral or diagram formProblem Solving - Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situationsAbility to work effectively and independently without supervision in a remote settingCore Competencies/Demonstrable BehaviorsDecision quality -Makes good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forwardPlans and aligns -Planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goalsEnsures accountability -Holds oneself accountable to meet commitmentsInstills trust -Gains the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticitySituational adaptability -Adapting approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situationsAttention to Detail -ability to focus on every aspect of a task or project, no matter how small, and to complete it accurately and thoroughlyEducation and/or ExperienceHigh School diploma or GED requiredMinimum typing speed of 30 WPM requiredMedical coder or previous processing experience or knowledge of ICD10 and CPT codes preferredSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis job has no supervisory responsibilitiesIncentives & BenefitsWe work hard to serve our Medi-Share Members, but know we can only do that if we invest in our employees professionally, financially, physically, socially, and spiritually.
