- Assist in the planning and coordination of procurement activities among the various ABCD departments.
- Ensure cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
- Vendor management, contract negotiations, and supplier relationship building.
- Collaborate with finance, legal, program, and administrative departments.
- Analyze spending patterns and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop and manage key supplier relationships.
- Review market trends to identify opportunities for procurement efficiency.
- Research and identify potential suppliers, obtaining competitive quotes.
- Collaborate with finance to ensure purchasing aligns with budgetary goals.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for purchasing activities.
- Help implement procurement systems and tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Develop and maintain procurement metrics to track performance, identify areas for improvement and report on sourcing effectiveness.
- Implement sustainable and socially responsible strategic sourcing practices, including supporting local suppliers and promoting ethical sourcing.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of purchasing policies and procedures, rules and regulations.
- Assist other members in the department with complex purchasing matters.
- Perform other duties as required.
Please Note: This is a temporary position with the potential for extension.Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in business, Business Management or related field, and at least three years of experience in purchasing or procurement responsibilities required.
- Ability to understand technical specifications and user requirements, and communicate between internal and external stakeholders.
- Thorough knowledge of pertinent theory, methods, procedures and skills.
- Knowledge of the various grades and qualities of equipment and supplies being purchased, the source of supply and current price trends.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with agency employees and the public.
- Ability to work effectively with persons from diverse ethnic and professional backgrounds required.
