Job Description Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 8am 5pm. We are seeking a professional to ensure competitive advantage for our business units as a member of our procurement team. The position will be responsible for supporting multiple regional categories in North America such as WasteManagement, Industrial Cleaning, Facility Management, Remediation, and Resource Recovery. This person will also be a key contributor in supporting company s key sustainability efforts through Chemical Recovery and Waste Minimization Program. This person will routinely engage with the associated business units and suppliers to align supplier capabilities with strategic priorities and explore creative and strategic supply solutions for the assigned categories. As a Category Buyer, this person will create chemistry by Leveraging their educational and professional background in Procurement, Project Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales or a related field to perform the Source-to-Contract activities for Waste Management, Industrial Cleaning, Remediation, Facility Management and other services in the North American region. Use their strong negotiation skills in negotiations with suppliers and internal business partners with accountability for awarding and implementing contracts that provide a competitive advantage. They will lead and manage the sourcing process (RFI, RFQ, RFP, etc.) and uphold company s Procurement policies for key strategic reimbursable or fixed price contracts and complex negotiations. Utilizing their business acumen, they will evaluate incoming commercial offers and support the bonus/penalty evaluation process. Their sound understanding of the purchase order process will enable them to support purchase order creation and processing as appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor s degree required, preferably in Engineering, Marketing, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus. A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering/Operations, Accounting and/or Sales and Marketing. Background in contracts and negotiations also desirable. Familiarity in industrial manufacturing environments is a plus. Experience in negotiating service contracts is desired (ex] reimbursable and fixed price) Ability to lead and influence others and demonstrated problem-solving skills with business value creation know-how. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to manage relationships with internal partners as well as suppliers. Must be team-oriented and capable of working in a multi-task environment with ability to make and implement decisions with limited information Location preference: Houston Travel will be required - typically < 20% but depends on the needs of the department.
Pay Range: The pay range for this position is $50.00 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.
