The machine design is based on the existing and highly optimized RHIC Ion-Ion collider. It will consist of two intersecting accelerators, one producing an intense beam of electrons, the other a beam of protons or heavier atomic nuclei which are steered into collisions. Beyond sparking scientific discoveries in a new frontier of fundamental physics, the Electron-Ion Collider will trigger technological breakthroughs that have broad-ranging impact on human health and national challenges. Position Description The Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) Directorate is seeking an energetic self-starter to join their team as a Procurement Liaison Supervisor. Using tracking sheets or other software and tools, track the progress of procurement activities, and provide ad hoc status reporting. Assist in the generation of procurement specifications and statements of work, and ensure that they conform with document requirements, and are complete and accurate. Ensure comprehensive document reviews, in accordance with document management requirements and document system workflows, and work to resolve comments among multiple document reviewers and stakeholders and ensure timely submission for approval. Actively liaise between scientists and engineers and procurement staff to ensure that procurement requirements are fulfilled, schedules are maintained, and potential issues that could negatively impact procurements are identified and mitigated. Ensure that robust procurement documentation is developed, reviewed, approved, and appropriately attached to purchase requisitions. Provide guidance to scientists and engineers to ensure procurement requirements are satisfied. Investigate and help resolve issues related to the processing of purchase requisitions.
