Procurement & Materials Manager (Building Materials Manufacturing)

Are you an experienced procurement leader with a strong background in manufacturing? A leading building materials manufacturer is seeking a Procurement & Materials Manager to oversee purchasing and warehousing operations at their plant and associated terminals.

About the Role:

As a key member of the plant management team, the Procurement & Materials Manager will drive strategic purchasing initiatives, optimize inventory management, and ensure operational efficiency. This individual will play a crucial role in developing procurement strategies, negotiating supplier agreements, and driving cost-effective sourcing while maintaining compliance and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee procurement and warehousing activities for the plant and terminals.
• Lead contract negotiations and manage supplier relationships.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and ethical bidding practices.
• Develop and implement strategic purchasing initiatives and process improvements.
• Drive inventory reduction initiatives and optimize inventory flow.
• Collaborate with Finance to provide cost projections and budgeting insights.
• Support plant operations and align procurement strategies with long-term business goals.
• Oversee contractor insurance requirements and risk management processes.

What We're Looking For:

• 5+ years of experience in procurement and contract management within a manufacturing, production, or construction environment.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical, economic, financial, or business field.
• Strong negotiation, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with inventory management and process optimization.
• Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Oracle Cloud is a plus.
• Professional certifications such as CPM, APP, CPP, or APIC are preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, drive initiatives, and influence business strategy.
