ESC is seeking a skilled Procurement/Operations Manager to lead our premier client's supply chain operations and ensure the timely and cost-effective sourcing of critical components, including electronics and steel hard goods. The Procurement/Operations Manager will oversee sourcing, procurement, and operational processes to support the manufacturing of snow removal equipment. In addition to procurement, this role will have oversight of the production operations team, ensuring seamless collaboration between procurement and production to meet organizational goals. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with product sourcing for electronics and steel hard goods, strong forensic auditing skills to analyze and optimize Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), and proven leadership in managing production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement and Sourcing:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies to source electronics and steel hard goods from reliable suppliers.
- Negotiate supplier agreements, including pricing, terms, and delivery schedules, ensuring cost efficiency and quality standards.
- Monitor and manage supplier performance, addressing issues related to quality, delivery, and compliance.
- Conduct forensic audits of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize profitability.
- Implement measures to reduce waste, improve budget adherence, and increase overall supply chain performance.
Production Operations Oversight:
- Lead the production operations team, ensuring efficient workflows, adherence to production schedules, and achievement of quality standards.
- Collaborate with production supervisors to address bottlenecks, implement process improvements, and maintain high operational efficiency.
- Align procurement and inventory management efforts with production demands to avoid delays or overstocking.
- Monitor key production metrics and drive initiatives to optimize labor and resource utilization.
Operations Management:
- Oversee inventory control and material management to support production schedules while minimizing carrying costs.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to align procurement efforts with product specifications and operational needs.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in procurement and operations management, with a focus on assembly of electronics and steel hard goods.
- Demonstrated expertise in forensic auditing and cost analysis for COGS.
- Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- Proven leadership experience overseeing production teams and optimizing manufacturing operations.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau).
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and regulatory standards in the snow removal or similar equipment industry is a plus.
