LaSalle Network is looking for a seasoned Product Development Manager to lead a full portfolio renovation of fragrance products at a top beauty industry company in Brooklyn, New York. This position offers a flexible schedule, starting at 20-30 hours per week, with the intent to increase to 30-40 hours per week based on project needs. The role will focus on product development, compliance testing, and ensuring the fragrance portfolio meets new industry regulations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Packaging, Regulatory, Procurement, and Project Management, to ensure successful execution of the project. This is a hands-on role for someone who is senior enough to independently manage product development and take ownership of the project. Product Development Manager Responsibilities:
- Lead the full fragrance portfolio renovation, ensuring all formulations meet new compliance standards and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with contract manufacturers to oversee formulation changes and ensure timely delivery of products.
- Review product submissions to ensure the fragrance, look, feel, and compliance standards are met.
- Manage and oversee regulatory compliance checks and ingredient list finalizations for new formulas.
- Maintain trackers with new formula numbers and ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Management team to monitor timelines, milestones, and overall project execution.
- Facilitate artwork reviews and ensure the final product aligns with branding and regulatory guidelines.
- Submit formula documentation to third-party agencies and assist in product registration exercises.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external communication, ensuring smooth interaction with stakeholders and manufacturers.
- Drive pricing adjustments and updates to ensure alignment with budget and regulatory changes.
- Ensure compatibility reading is a priority and actively track progress on formula reformulation and compliance checks.
Product Development Manager Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in fragrance product development, regulatory compliance, or a similar role in the beauty or fragrance industry.
- Strong expertise in regulatory compliance and formulation changes.
- Familiarity with fragrance formulation processes and understanding of industry regulations and standards (FDA, EU, etc.).
- Experience working with project management software, preferably ASANA and The Good Face, to manage timelines, trackers, and submissions.
- Proficiency in managing external communications with contract manufacturers and stakeholders.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage a large volume of SKUs in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects and ask the right questions for effective execution.
- Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Experience in overseeing and managing packaging and regulatory compliance processes.
- Must be based in New York.
- Agile and resilient, with the ability to manage stress and maintain productivity under pressure.
- Strong communicator with resilience to handle the demands of a fast-paced, high-stakes project.
