Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer plays a key role in optimizing production processes by improving quality, cost efficiency, and operational effectiveness. This position ensures that products meet the highest standards of design, usability, and manufacturing efficiency while also troubleshooting production and equipment issues. The engineer will lead continuous improvement initiatives, oversee equipment upgrades, and contribute to new machinery procurement and installation to enhance productivity and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Product & Process Optimization:
- Stay ahead of industry trends, gather market feedback, and drive product enhancements.
- Improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
- Support ISO-9001:2008 compliance and lead continuous improvement efforts.
Product Design & Development:
- Design products that streamline manufacturing and enhance end-user experience.
- Develop technical drawings, weldments, and assemblies using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
- Utilize Engineering Change processes to document and implement product modifications effectively.
Testing & Quality Assurance:
- Assist with joiner/die testing to ensure product safety, functionality, and durability.
- Conduct ROI evaluations and detailed post-audit reviews for product modifications.
- Implement robust quality control measures to maintain high production standards.
Equipment & Production Support:
- Troubleshoot production and equipment-related challenges, implementing solutions to improve reliability.
- Research, recommend, and oversee equipment upgrades to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
- Support the procurement, installation, and integration of new machinery into production workflows.
Collaboration & Safety Compliance:
- Travel as needed to customer sites to review technical requirements and provide engineering solutions.
- Effectively communicate technical concepts and champion innovative solutions.
- Promote and adhere to safe working habits, ensuring compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (preferred).
- Software Proficiency: Experience with 3D modeling, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD for technical drawings and assemblies.
- Manufacturing Expertise: Strong background in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and user-focused product development.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex challenges and develop creative, industry-leading solutions.
