HP Tuners LLC is a global leader in the automotive arena, developing software and hardware for vehicle control and calibration. To support our continual growth, we are expanding our team with the addition of a Product Manager. The Product Manager will interface to a multidisciplinary development team and support the fulfillment of the company roadmap. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for gaps in consumer product offerings and an innovative mindset for filling them. This person should be able to perform market analyst with a ability to support the full lifecycle of a product, from concept to release. In their role, the Product Manager would work with cross-functional teams in the creation of products that improve customer experience and grow market share. This position reports to the Product Manager, Motorsports. This position requires a minimum 4-days onsite in Buffalo Grove, Illinois.Role Objectives
- Support the product and business-planning processes.
- Analyze customer needs, current market trends, and potential partnerships from an ROI and build-vs.-buy perspective.
- Assess current competitor offerings and seek opportunities for differentiation.
- Analyze product requirements and develop appropriate business cases.
- Develop, implement, and maintain product life-cycles across multiple departments.
- Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates HP Tuners across primary market segments.
- Support the realization of the company product road map and help identify unrealized opportunities.
- Track product performance and report on findings to management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the execution of all processes in the product lifecycle, including product and market research, competitor analysis, positioning, requirements and roadmap development, and product launch.
- Create product strategy documents that describe business cases, high-level use cases, technical requirements, revenue, and ROI.
- Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for development by engineering teams.
- Analyze market data to liaise with sales in developing strategies and define product objectives for effective marketing communications.
- Collaborate closely with all departments in the development, QA, and release of products to ensure success for the entire organization.
- Work within company production capabilities and guide product design and development to match existing capabilities. Alternatively, if new processes and equipment are required, keep all areas informed to avoid product launch delays.
Requirements Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or other engineering related discipline is required.
- At least five years of product development experience in their appropriate engineering field is required.
- At least two years of related Product Manager experience is desirable.
- Prior experience in the aftermarket car and/or automotive industry is highly preferred.
- High effectiveness in communicating across cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, combined with strong presentation and public speaking skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to understand complex technical concepts and communicate them to diverse audiences.
- Capable of multi-tasking and prioritization to deliver on business commitments in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

We are dedicated to ensuring fair pay for all employees and continually work towards greater transparency in our compensation practices. The estimated base salary range for this position is $95,000-110,000, with actual pay determined including factors such as location, skills, experience, and other relevant considerations. This position also qualifies for a discretionary bonus and a complete benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage, paid time off (PTO), and a 401(k) program with employer matching.
