Position Overview
Based in Green Bay, WI the Product Manager will identify and develop potential products; conduct market research; generate product requirements; determine specifications, product timetables, and time-integrated plans for product introduction; develop marking strategies. The position will report to a Segment Marketing Manager.
Responsibilities
- Manage the product roadmap, prioritize product opportunities, refine feature ideas and maintain existing features to drive business goals.
- Handle product transitions for discontinued products, vendor driven changes, slow moving items, etc.
- Recommend the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraise new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes; collaborate with customers to define critical to qualify (CTQ) product attributes.
- Conduct market and customer research to identify product portfolio gaps, potential new product development opportunities, and threats. Assess market competition by comparing the company's products to competitiors' products.
- Provide management with short-term and long-term product sales forecasts, special reports and ad hoc analysis.
- Coordinate go-to-market strategies and commercialization efforts when launching a new product or feature by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with R&D, Technical, Sales and Manufacuring.
- Conduct product reviews, monitor overall product performance, and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all product-related inquiries.
- Manage the successful onboarding of new customers and/or products.
- Network with key industry stakeholders and develop relationships with strategic channel partners and OEMs.
Qualifications
- Preferred Marking or Business degree with 2 years of prior technical or commercial experience in pressure sensitive labels materials/market or comparable manufacturing industry preferred.
- Minimum 2 years product management, product development or product commercialization experience, including hands-on experience with product, customer and/or competitor analytics.
- Ability to influence & execute across multiple departments in a matrixed organization.
- Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with various stakeholders who may have competing interests.
- Proven project leadership and critical thinking skills; ability to manage time effectively on several simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to think out of the box and develop creative solutions.
- Ability to travel 25%.
