DESCRIPTION
The Product Marketing/Consumer & Marketing Insights Manager will report to the Product Marketing Director, assist with all aspects of innovation programs, from concept, briefing and go-to-market strategy. This role will guide marketing strategies through actionable consumer and market insights and will involve close partnerships with cross-functional teams to drive programs to successful execution.
CONSUMER & MARKET INSIGHTS
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis on the latest beauty market and consumer trends across face, body, hair and supplements to provide actionable insights for innovation and go-to-market strategies.
- Monitor and report on competitor activities and industry developments to identify potential opportunities and threats, developing comprehensive new launch, pricing, and GTM strategy competitive reviews.
- Create and own category cheat sheets for top segments and markets.
- Collaborate cross-departmentally to analyze the success of our launches and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Analyze the productivity of our SKUs on an ongoing basis and provide recommendations to discontinue, reform/repack, and/or reposition to increase sales.
- Develop and present comprehensive reports and presentations to key global stakeholders, including senior management, to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Stay up to date on industry best practices and emerging trends to continuously improve our approach to consumer insights and marketing strategies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, such as market research agencies, to gather additional insights and enhance our understanding of the market and our consumer.
STRATEGY & PLANNING
- Support the development of brand and product innovation strategy across all categories by providing insights and recommendations.
- Assist in development of 3-year innovation strategy and 18-month detailed calendar across new innovations and promotional programs.
SALES ENABLEMENT & FORECASTING
- Own the following files/asset management, ensuring up-to-date regulatory/legal compliance and accuracy: master product file, pricing, master copy - packaging & GTM, sell sheets, PDPs, pack shots, retailer assets, and education documents.
- Support development of sell sheet and education presentations for all new launches, ensuring delivery on time to sales and PR partners.
- Support in accurate and timely regional product forecasting, leveraging market data and historic product sales to set mix of business guidelines by region. Review forecasts once received, identifying inconsistencies, and advising on updates where needed.
- Manage lab sample and early product requests and delivery to all global teams.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT & SALES SUPPORT
- Work collaboratively alongside Product Marketing Director with cross-functional teams: NPD, Sales, Demand Planning, Supply Chain, Ops, Finance, Education, Regulatory, Legal, Visual Merchandising, Customer Service, Ecom, and Creative to support flawless execution for all new launches.
- Lead sets, GWPs, and merch program timelines, ensuring that all key deadlines are met.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of product marketing experience with a focus on consumer & market insights
- Passionate about the beauty industry, beauty experience a plus
- Possess strong analytical skills.
- Are a quick-thinking, creative, hands-on, organized, problem-solver with a desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- An excellent team player with the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
