Job Title: Production Assembler LeadLocation: South TucsonTerms: Right to HireSalary/rate: $25/hourlyRequirements: HS Diploma, Valid Drivers license and previous assembly experience

P ur pose of P osition: Assemble and test electronic, microprocessor-based systems, radio communications equipment including Cables and Harnesses. Assist in the facilitation of daily Production Operations in support of the Production Coordinator. Support department production schedule through product insight collaboration and keeping production personnel engaged to meet required build schedules. Will assume duties of Production Coordinator as needed. All actions are to ensure a high-quality product is delivered on-time to the warehouse for delivery to Hexagon customers. M ajor A r eas of Responsibility

  • Lead production personnel – direct personnel as needed to ensure efficient assembly workflow to support Production Coordinator and department deadlines.
  • Ensure all manufacturing facility processes and safety guidelines are followed, everyone is a safety officer.
  • Ensure that all Assembly Instructions are followed without deviation.
  • Support improvement in assembly/production processes by taking all recommendations and observations to Production Coordinator/Production Engineer.
  • Continuously support and identify personnel for cross training, collaborate with Production Coordinator on recommendations and observations of assembler strengths.
  • Train production team Assembler levels Senior, III, II, and I to ensure proficient and efficient assembly in accordance with current assembly instructions and Engineering guidelines.
  • Support the timely completion of Work Orders; diligently follow-up and follow-through in all situations to ensure on-time delivery in accordance with work order completion date.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and be flexible in a low volume high mix manufacturing facility.
  • Perform all tasks as assigned by Production Coordinator or other members of the management team
  • Maintain a clean and organized, clutter free, work area; Support 5s program.
  • Support inventory control; follow kit pulling of required parts to work order only, document any and all waste. Communicate any parts that are observed low in quantity to ensure rapid replacement.
  • Support ISO program.
  • Perform Quality Inspection on Assemblages in support of Production In-process Quality program.
  • Prepare prototypes of components assemblies and systems of either new or current products as directed by policies and procedures or written test plans or work requests. Ensures that the prototypes meet the established specifications.
  • Assemble electronic, microprocessor-based systems.
  • Assemble Cables and Harnesses per Drawings including and supporting Engineering with Drawings and Specifications as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. (pre-requisite)
  • Driver license
  • Additional training may be given to meet future demands of position.
Kn ow ledge & Experience Required:
  • In–depth knowledge of production processes and the tools and equipment used.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate a wide variety of resources to meet production quality and quantity in place of Production Coordinator when required.
  • Kaizen and ISO mindset.
  • Any additional requirements or certifications adopted by Hexagon Mining

Physical Demands:
  • Whilst performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. Reach with hands and arms to handle or feel materials. The employee is regularly required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
