Michael Gerald LLC, a leading men's and women's apparel importer, is seeking a Production Assistant in NYC midtown. Job description:
- Review vendor WIP reports weekly with the production manager & follow up on pending items
- Log in approvals/rejections into the internal WIP report
- Answer factory emails regarding customer pack ways, ticketing, etc. based on vendor manuals
- Review test reports & troubleshoot failures with the production manager & follow up on all retesting.
- Create and maintain bulk Purchase Orders
- Send vendor guidelines when a PO is sent,
- Cost sheet submission to Imports
- Review inspection reports and recap corrections needed
- Communicate with vendors on overage/shortage requests and get approvals
- Approve trim layouts/carton markings
- Track submits and ensures comments are going out promptly from cross-functional teams
- Create packing lists & send packages for private label customers
- Track and follow up on any special sample requests to make sure they are received in a timely manner
- Ad-hoc projects and front desk relief backup
Experience:
- Familiar with production SOP and terminology
- Experience working with agents and factories.
- Experience with private label approval process
- Experience working with AMT is a plus
- Experience with Walmart's private label is a plus
Skills:
- Able to handle heavy data entry
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and highly organized.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications (i.e. Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook) is required
- Understanding of the production process and lead times
- Develop respectful and collaborative relationships with cross functional teams, customers, and vendor base
- Ability to study customer manuals
Qualification:
- minimum 3 years of experience in apparel production; 5 years preferred
- College degree or related experience
Monday to Thursday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm on siteFridays 8:30 am to 5:00 pm remote
