DESCRIPTION:

Entertainment Tonight is looking to hire a Production Assistant. This PA will be primarily responsible for filling out music cue sheets for each of the ET broadcasts. The music cue sheets track the music used in each ET episode. Once complete these sheets are submitted to the Paramount Music Department for approval. Once approved the cue sheers are turned into the PROs (ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, and GMR in the US).

The right candidate is detail-oriented and meticulous with their work. Short cuts are not acceptable because it will directly impact songwriter's ability to collect performance royalties and for Paramount to collect royalty revenue. Cue sheet creation requires looking at every piece of music used in a program, confirming rights, timing, usage, and metadata accuracy.

You must be comfortable working on a deadline. It is a mandated global legal requirement that all content produced by Paramount timely and accurately submit Music Cue Sheets to the Performing Rights Societies, Music Publishers, Record Labels, and other Music Companies that we have deals with. Getting behind in your work would have a drastic impact.

When not working on music cue sheets, this position can be tapped to assist production in other ways including: transcribing shoots, assisting with shoots, assisting the production office with tasks. The right candidate enjoys working with others and is comfortable in group settings.

Responsibilities:

· Track, process, administer, and submit cue sheets accurately and on time for all episodes.

· Ability to spot issues in cue sheets and promptly flag and make appropriate fixes.

· Must be able to communicate company requirements to Production and effectively and persuasively obtain the information that is needed to complete accurate and timely cue sheets.

• Assist producers & director in gathering assets for video edits.
• Log & transcribe celebrity interviews.
• Cross-train to provide staffing coverage in other ET departments.

Qualifications:

· The ability to grasp ET's cue sheet system.

· A strong interest in music

• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with firm deadlines.
• Must be capable of handling multiple projects at once.
• Must be dependable and a clear communicator.
• Must have an eye for detail (for example: Can you spot the Kardashian in this crowd shot?)
• Must have a clear focus on ensuring ET is putting out the best content possible (for example: Is the audio I'm transcribing sound muffled in such a way I should flag this for a supervisor?)
• Experience is not necessary, but education and/or an internship in TV or in the entertainment industry is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of pop culture
• Familiarity with social platforms like Instagram and TikTok

This is a $20/hr. position with a minimum of 40 hours a week. Health benefits.

The schedule for this position is Monday– Friday starting at 7:00 am. Must be LA-based. Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays are in-office days at the Entertainment Tonight studio. On Wednesdays & Fridays, you have the option to work from home.
