Involves assembling and checking product parts, ensuring that all machinery runs smoothly, and assisting in the shipment of items. This could include running electro plate, hand grinding, and small assembly.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up, operate, and change fixtures and belts that grind and/or polish internal and external surfaces of metal parts.
  • Blends and polishes parts for excellent cosmetic quality.
  • Set up, operate, and change fixtures and belts that grind and/or polish external surfaces of metal parts.
  • Performs finishing operations on a machine or a bench.
  • Positions small parts in a specified relationship, using hands, tweezers, and pliers.
  • Clips, cement, or otherwise fastens parts together by hand or using hand tools.
  • Responsible for spray painting sockets.
  • Place raw materials or products into manufacturing machines to aid the assembly process, package finished products, and organize them for shipment.
  • Complete checks on equipment and products to ensure quality production.
  • Follows the proper sequence of immersing parts in tanks for a given time.
  • Other job duties may be assigned to meet the needs of the business.
Requirements:

Education

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Experience

  • Minimum of six months to one year in a manufacturing environment.

Specific Skills/Abilities

  • Read and follow prints.
  • Perform setups and operations without supervision.
  • Meet quality standards for parts with little to no rejections.
  • Read routings and use measuring tools (e.g., gauges, calipers, and micrometers).

Systems (hardware, software, computer, etc.)

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to use and understand internal software.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Physical Activities include: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing for significant periods, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, picking or pinching, grasping, perceiving attributes of objects, conveying with other workers, hearing and repetitive motions.
  • Physical Requirements exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Duties are occasionally performed under dust, dirt, heat, cold, and fumes. Tasks are frequently performed under noisy conditions. There is occasional exposure to cuts and abrasions. Observation Acuity standard is the minimum for machine operators, where the job inspection is at or within arm's reach.
